I walked the labyrinth today. The prayer tool I built in the former-horse-pasture-now- garden-zone, used for meditation and reflection. This labyrinth is a single, continuous path that meanders from an entrance/exit point, to the center, then back by the same circuitous route, based on sacred geometry which invites, interacts with, and embodies spiritual and physical energies.
To create a labyrinth and walk the path seems to me more an art than a science. The design of my labyrinth is inspired by the nearby beehouse which shelters honeybees and their hives, so the outer perimeter of the labyrinth is not circular or square as traditional designs tend toward, but hexagon with six angled outer lines that ripple their way to the center. I find it’s really amazing to have a labyrinth in my yard.
